Councils across Australia play a huge role in providing local communities with swimming pool facilities which councils regulate to ensure they are maintained and operated in a manner that reduces risk to public health and safety. Whilst most councils generally own the council swimming pool, they often engage a third party operator to operate the public swimming pool facility.

As a swimming pool operator, you are required to obtain a licence from council.
In addition, if you do any of the following activities, then you MUST hold a Public & Products Liability policy:
- Running swimming classes;
- Conducting water sports;
- Have Diving Boards / Water Slides;
- Playground Facilities;
- Childcare Facilities;
- Kiosk/Restaurant Activities.
Here at LCIS, we understand there are many risks associated with running a swimming pool. As a swimming pool operator, you also need to ensure that:
- You are adequately up to date with the latest swimming pool legislation;
- All staff members/ life-savers are trained in first aid;
- Your swimming instructors are appropriately qualified;
- All working with children checks have been performed and are up to date;
- A risk management plan is in place for your premises;
- You are up to date with other risks and activities that you are undertaking.
We can provide affordable insurance options for the following:
LIMIT OF LIABILITY:
General Liability $25,000,000 any one occurrence.
Products Liability $25,000,000 any one occurrence and in the aggregate any one Period of Insurance.
(In the event that any one Period of Insurance exceeds twelve months then the aggregate limit of liability shall be deemed to apply separately to each twelve months period or part thereof).
SUB-LIMITS OF LIABILITY:
Property in Your Physical or Legal Control $250,000
DEDUCTIBLE/EXCESSES:
The insured shall bear the first $5,000 of each and every Property Damage claim or series of claims arising out of any one Occurrence.
(All indemnifiable liability attributable to one source or original cause shall be deemed one Occurrence for the purpose of the application of the above deductible).
