Personal Accident – Volunteer Workers Insurance
Personal Accident (Volunteer Workers) insurance provides cover for volunteers working for your group in an official capacity, e.g. committee members, fundraising, organising activities or assisting at events as well as direct travel to and from these activities including committee meetings. The policy will provide volunteers with financial compensation should they sustain personal injury whilst working in a volunteer capacity for your group. You should consider keeping a register of volunteers and officials and when they are engaged in activities on your behalf.
The cover triggers on injury whilst performing the volunteer work.
This compensation takes the form of payment for lost wages for up to 104 weeks whilst the volunteer is unable to work at their normal job.
The policy also allows lump sum benefits from death, loss of limbs and permanent partial disablement.
